Among Arabian thoroughbreds, the Tabriz
Prize (800 m) for new fillies, allowed
us to discover an exceptionally talented
"young lady:" Souad, a daughter
of Halim and Sounaïka. Make sure
you remember this name, because her show
impressed the assistance and reminded
a number of them of the beginnings of
her father, the star-horse, Halim. Departed
at lane 13, and ridden by Jamel Brik,
Souad had no difficulty at all taking
the lead of the group and swinging across
to the inside lane, after 200 meters,
galloping ahead of the batch, it soon
widened the gap and contented herself
with maintaining her advance until the
arrival.
Far away behind, Sirt El Hob (Sour and
Himati) finally made a good return and
was rewarded by the first certificate
of merit, ahead of Sana Al Badr (Zeïdoun
and Kouhaïla), who made a good effort
in the straight line.
Souad belongs to her naissor, Mr. Mohamed
Mezghani, and it is being trained by Ali
Ben Jaâfar. The colts’ counterpart,
the Afrane Prize, was animated by Sinouj
Sejfroud and Sinouj Al Badr until the
entry of the straight line where Sarih
joined the leading group.
